Q. What did you do before Rhino to stay active?

A. So prior to Rhino I vowed that I would never be a gym-goer. I thought I could do it on my own. I prided myself on being a runner. That’s what I did in high school, and it’s what I was comfortable with. Like most people I had an apprehension to attending a gym. So after a lot of discussion and what you might call coaxing, my husband who was along-time member of Rhino convinced me that it was the right decision and I’ve never looked back.


Q. Do you see a difference in the lifestyle you currently live now vs. before joining Rhino?

A. There’s literally no comparison. They call it the fitness-bug for a reason. You catch it and it’s really hard to get rid of. The decision to become committed to a healthy lifestyle was the best decision that I had ever made. I think being at Rhino not only changes your physical appearance, but it also moves your way of thinking into a more positive place which I think makes that difficult lifestyle change decision a little easier.


Q. What has been the most rewarding factor for you personally since your journey started?

A. So Rhino has been my only gym experience. So aside from improving my overall health and well being, I feel a sense of family and comradery at Rhino. It is literally like an episode of Cheers. Everyone knows your name. They notice when you’re gone. They genuinely want to support you in any goal you want to achieve. Whether it’s running your first 5k or running your first half-marathon, they are that crowd behind you cheering you on. I think that’s important.


Q. What does commitment mean to you?

A. Commitment to me is showing up and being the best version of yourself that you can possibly be. I think sometimes we are our own worst enemy especially when it comes to health and fitness. Positioning your mindset that to believe that any goal, personal goal or gain that you achieve, is ultimately an achievement is the best way to help you overcome any obstacle you may face.  


Q. Why Rhino from your perspective?

A. Rhino for me personally has been overall life changing. I’ve been at Rhino in shape. I’ve been at Rhino out of shape. I’ve been at Rhino pregnant.  Literally you name it I’ve been here. Anyone can come into a gym and can physically improve their strength, however I think that Rhino has the ability to not only improve that, but also your mental strength and that’s what it’s all about. Your mind won’t take you where you body won’t go.
